I am just going to come right out and say it–I LOVE MY ECOMMERCE STORE on this site. I really do. I’m a firm believer of not only giving readers multiple choices for books, but also, I know that when I sell a book here, I get a larger share of the sales price than through any vendor.
More money’s nice, but you know what’s even nicer? Being able to control giveaways. I recently participated in the free giveaways at My Author Home and provided the free book through my webstore. I gave a coupon and was able to collect information here. It was win-win. I also had instant gratification on how many people took advantage of a free book promotion and with the coupon code I knew exactly what promotional effort drove sales.
For self-published authors, I strongly recommend an onsite store. That’s why they’re offered for free as part of My Author Home free websites. In fact, if you don’t want to move your site, but just have your own store, a site from My Author Home Free will take care of that for you.
I’ve long had my own website, even on my previous incarnation of this website. I find it to be a super helpful option for authors, especially self-published authors who are able to sell their own books. Obviously if you’re with a publisher, you probably don’t have the rights to sell directly through your own website. (Yet one more reason why I want to self-publish.)
I love my estore. I can’t imagine having a site without one. Once all my books are posted, and yes, I’m still working on it, then I can create bundles, “boxed sets” and other goodies only available here. I look forward to bringing those to you.
Will you have other formats besides ebooks?
Yes. Though they’re not on the site yet, I do have paperbacks of Her Hungers, The Marksman, Comrade Bear, and Twin Spirits here in my home office for shipping. There are others on Amazon as well. I will also be working to extensively put my backlist into paper and then hopefully with my husband (who has a marvelous voice) putting them into audio as well. Thanks for asking!
Thank you I much prefer print books
