I’m going to start listing the books I share in my newsletter here on my blog as well. This week it’s Faithless by Laurel Black.
I put the dishes on the rack, and dried my hands. I caught something from the corner of my eyes, and turned. I walked towards the trash can then.
Dead roses.
And within those roses, I saw a small card with a name written on it. It had a white ribbon attached to it, with hearts scrawled all over. I leaned closer, and I saw Christian, written elegantly on it.
I thought back to the pair of eyes last night, and lowered my head. Probably just a prank. Or just me being extremely paranoid. Even so, I couldn’t stop the doubts from coming through. Was this why he was so cold? Did he think I was cheating on him?
I bit the bottom of my lip. I walked upstairs, back to that same window. Before I knew it, I reached over, and shoved the curtains over it.
